It depends what triggered it. We pull the code and test the related system to tell you whether it's something to schedule around or something to address now, rather than guessing from the dashboard light alone.
How do you decide what actually needs fixing?
We diagnose first — codes, testing, and a physical look at the part in question — before recommending any repair. If something is worn but not urgent, we'll tell you that too, so you can plan for it instead of paying for it today.
Do you do state smog checks?
Yes. If a vehicle doesn't pass, we explain what failed and why before recommending the repair required to get it through, so you understand what you're paying for and what the car actually needs.
