Compacted lawns choke on their own soil. We open it up, add seed where it's thinned out, and let water finally reach the roots.
Foot traffic and clay soil press a lawn flat over time, and water starts running off instead of soaking in. We pull plugs across the lawn to open that soil, work in seed where the turf has thinned, and top-dress where it needs help holding moisture. You'll see the plugs on the surface for a bit — that's the soil breathing again.

02Drought-tolerant planting
Ceanothus, salvia, manzanita, and other California natives that bloom here in August without a daily soak.
We build beds around plants that already know this climate — natives and Mediterranean species that hold color through the dry months on a fraction of the water a lawn needs. We group them by water need so nothing gets overwatered next to something that wants to stay dry, then mulch to hold what moisture there is.
03
03Irrigation & drip conversion
Spray heads swapped for drip lines that put water at the root instead of on the sidewalk.
A lot of water bills come down to heads spraying pavement or a lawn that's now half native plants and half old sprinkler zones. We convert lines to drip where it makes sense, split zones by plant type, and check pressure and coverage so nothing gets skipped or drowned.
04
04Monthly maintenance
Pruning, weeding, and a walk of the irrigation system so small problems get caught before they're expensive ones.
Maintenance here means more than mowing. Each visit includes pruning for shape and plant health, weeding before it takes over, and a check of irrigation heads and drip lines for clogs or breaks. The goal is a yard that looks tended, not just cut.
05
05Tree & shrub care
Pruning for structure and health, not just size — so trees and shrubs hold their shape through the dry season.
Trees and shrubs get pruned for structure first — removing crossing or dead growth so the plant's energy goes where it should. Timing and cut placement matter more than how much comes off. Done right, it holds its shape and health through the dry months instead of just growing back messy.
06
06Clean-ups & hauling
Overgrown beds, dead plants, and yard debris cleared out and hauled away in one visit.
Before any redesign or planting, a yard often needs clearing first — dead shrubs, overgrown beds, leftover debris from a job someone else started. We clear it, haul it off site, and leave the ground ready for whatever comes next, whether that's new planting or just a clean lawn again.

We plant for the yard you actually have
Four Seasons Lawn Aeration works on the yards other companies treat as an afterthought between mow days — the compacted lawn that won't take water, the corner nothing has grown in for years, the sprinkler heads soaking the sidewalk instead of the roots. We walk the property first, look at sun, slope, and soil, and build a plan around what San Diego's dry months actually do to a yard. Aeration opens compacted soil so water and roots can move again. From there we plant, irrigate, and maintain so the yard keeps working long after we've left the driveway.

How a job runs, start to finish
01
Walk the yard together
Point at what you want changed. Ten minutes outside beats an hour of description.
02
Agree the scope and the price
What's included, what gets hauled away, what it costs — settled before tools come off the truck.
03
The work gets done
On the day you set, the way you agreed. Weather can move a date; it shouldn't move the price.
04
Walk it again before they leave
The cleanup is part of the job. Say so while the crew is still there.
Before you hire anyone
Four flags worth knowing — whoever you call
Ask these of anyone bidding your job — us included. A good answer costs nothing; a bad one saves you the whole mistake.
01
A price before anyone's seen the job
Real quotes come after eyes on the work. A number over the phone is a number that changes.
02
Nothing in writing
Scope, price, and who buys materials — settled before work starts, on paper or in a text thread.
03
Pressure to start today
Good operators are booked. Same-hour availability with a discount attached is its own answer.
04
No paper trail on payment
However you pay, there should be a record of what was agreed and what was done.
01
We inspect before we quote
Every job starts with a walk of the property so the plan matches the actual soil, sun, and slope.
02
Water goes to the root
Irrigation is set and adjusted zone by zone so water reaches the plant instead of the sidewalk.
03
Built for the dry months
Plant choices are matched to San Diego's dry season, not a general nursery list.
01Why does my lawn need aeration if I water it enough?
Compacted soil can block water from reaching the roots even if you water plenty — it runs off or pools instead of soaking in. Aeration opens the soil so water, air, and roots can move through it again.
02Can you convert my existing sprinklers to drip instead of starting over?
Often yes. We look at your current zones and swap spray heads for drip lines where the layout allows it, splitting zones by plant type so nothing gets over- or under-watered in the process.
03How do you decide what to plant?
We walk the yard first and look at sun exposure, slope, and existing soil, then choose plants that hold up through San Diego's dry season on less water — natives and Mediterranean species come up often for that reason.

Before you decide
Do I actually own the site?+
Yes. You own your site and your domain. Cancel anytime, keep everything. If you ever leave, we hand it all over, free. That's the deal in one sentence, and it's printed at checkout too.
Can I get my money back?+
On the $0-today plan there's nothing to get back at first: nothing is charged for 30 days, so cancel before then and you pay nothing. After that you can cancel anytime; a month already billed isn't refunded. If you paid $299 to launch instead, that $299 is refundable for 30 days, no questions asked.
What's the monthly fee for?+
It's $59 a month (or $49 if you paid $299 to launch), and it covers hosting, security, and unlimited edits to the pages you have: a new phone number, new prices, new photos, new wording. Email us and we make the change, with no hourly billing. New pages, like a page for another town you serve, are optional add-ons, and you see the price before you buy.
