What we work on
- 01
Diagnostics
Before any repair starts, we find the actual cause of the light, noise, or feel that brought you in, and show you what we found.
- 02
Brakes
Pads, rotors, and lines inspected and replaced, with the worn parts set aside so you can see how much life was actually left.
- 03
Oil & fluids
Oil, coolant, transmission and brake fluid checked and changed on the schedule your car's engine actually needs.
- 04
Engine repair
From a rough idle to a timing issue, we trace the problem to its source and walk you through what's involved in fixing it.
- 05
AC service
Weak or warm airflow traced to the actual cause, whether it's refrigerant, a compressor, or a leak in the system.
- 06

Show, don't just tell
We show you the worn or failed part before recommending a repair, whenever the part comes out.
Diagnose before we quote
The estimate follows the diagnosis, not the other way around, so it's based on what's actually wrong.
Urgent versus not
We tell you plainly which repairs need attention now and which can reasonably wait.
Say what the car's doing
A call or a text. The sound, the light, when it happens — plain words are enough.
Get eyes on it before a number
A real estimate comes after the car's been looked at. You approve it before any wrench moves.
The work gets done
What was agreed, at the price that was agreed. Anything new that turns up mid-job gets approved the same way first.
Pick it up and look it over
Ask what was replaced, and ask for the old parts back — that's a normal thing to ask.
Before any shop touches your car
Four flags worth knowing — whatever shop you choose
Ask these of anyone quoting your car — us included. A good answer costs nothing; a bad one saves you the whole repair.
A diagnosis over the phone
Nobody can hear a wheel bearing through a phone. A real answer starts with the car in the shop.
An estimate that can't be itemized
Parts, labor, and what each one fixes. A single lump number hides what you're paying for.
Work started without a yes
Nothing gets replaced before you approve it. “We went ahead and…” is the sentence to walk away from.
Hesitation about the old parts
Asking to see what came off your car is normal. The reaction to that question tells you plenty.
We show you the worn part before we replace it
Luvs Cars is a San Diego repair shop built around one habit: nothing gets fixed until you understand why it needs fixing. That means pulling the part, showing you the wear, and explaining what happens if you wait versus if you don't. Some problems are urgent. Plenty aren't, and we'll say so. Cars come in for a check-engine light or a squeal from the brakes, and they leave with a plain answer about what's actually going on underneath them, not just a bill.

Questions
How do I know if a repair is urgent or can wait?
We explain what we find in plain terms: what's failing, what happens if it's left alone, and roughly how much time that gives you. Some things need attention right away; plenty don't, and we'll tell you which is which.
Will I understand what's actually wrong with my car?
That's the point of the diagnostic step. We show you the part or the reading that led to our conclusion before recommending any repair, so you're approving work based on what we both saw, not a guess.
Do you only work on certain makes?
Call and describe the car and the issue, and we'll tell you honestly whether it's something we handle. Diagnostics, brakes, engine work, AC, smog, and electrical cover most of what comes through the door.
