Services
What we work on
- 01
Diagnostics
Check-engine light, rough idle, a noise you can't place — we run the diagnostic first and show you what it found before quoting anything.
- 02
Brakes
Pads, rotors, calipers and lines inspected and replaced, with the worn parts pulled and shown to you before new ones go on.
- 03
Oil & Fluids
Oil, filter, and fluid checks done at the counter, with vehicles worked in around the day's scheduled jobs.
- 04
Engine Repair
From a rough idle to a full rebuild, engine work starts with confirming the cause before any part gets pulled apart.
- 05
AC Service
AC blowing warm or not blowing at all — we check the system for leaks and failed components before recharging anything.
- 06
Smog & Inspection
Smog checks and pre-purchase or general inspections, with any failed item explained in plain terms before you decide what to fix.
Our

Show You the Part
We walk you to the vehicle and point out the worn or failed part before it's replaced.
Diagnose Before We Quote
The diagnostic runs and the cause gets confirmed before any repair number is given.
Fit You In When We Can
Walk-ins are worked into the day's schedule alongside booked appointments whenever the bay allows.
A concrete-floor shop that shows you the worn part first
Proline Automotive runs out of a plain, working garage in El Cajon — poured concrete, painted block, a roof that's corrugated metal, not showroom carpet. The point of the place is the work, not the waiting room. A car comes in, the crew runs the diagnostic, and before anything gets replaced, someone walks you over and points at the actual part that failed. Customers who start with one repair tend to come back with every vehicle they own, because the explanation was worth trusting the second time.

“I can’t recommend proline enough. I bring all of my vehicles here because I can trust the crew and not have to worry.”

“I came in for an oil change without having made an appointment. They were very busy at opening time with vehicles scheduled for work but took care of me then and there. Always great service here.”
last year
“I had my clutch upgraded to a stage 3 clutch at a shop in Chula Vista on my 17 Civic Si and that mechanic did more damage than actually doing the job.”

Questions
Do I need an appointment, or can I just show up?
Booking a time keeps things moving fastest, but the crew works walk-ins in around the day's scheduled jobs when the bay allows it. If it's urgent, call ahead so they know you're coming.
How do you figure out what's actually wrong with my car?
We run the diagnostic, test the systems the codes point to, and confirm the actual failed part before quoting anything — you see what was found, not just a guess dressed up as a repair.
What if another shop already worked on my car and something's still off?
We inspect the prior work as part of the diagnosis rather than assuming it was done right. If a previous repair is part of the current problem, we'll show you what we found before correcting it.
