What we work on
- 01
Diagnostics
Check-engine light, strange noise, or a dash warning you've been ignoring — we trace it to the actual part before quoting anything.
- 02
Brakes
Pads, rotors, calipers and lines inspected and replaced, with the worn parts set aside so you can see the wear yourself.
- 03
Oil & fluids
Oil changes plus a check of coolant, brake fluid, and transmission fluid so nothing gets missed between visits.
- 04
Engine repair
From a rough idle to a bigger mechanical issue, we diagnose the cause and lay out what repair actually solves it.
- 05
AC service
Warm air instead of cold, a weak fan, or a system that just stopped — we find the failed component and fix that, not the whole system.
- 06
Batteries & electrical
Slow starts, dead batteries, and wiring gremlins — tested with a meter, not guessed at.
Our
standards
- 01Worn parts shown to you, not just described
- 02Diagnosis before any repair is quoted
- 03Serving San Diego neighborhoods by appointment
Diagnose first
We identify the actual failed part before recommending any repair.
Show the part
Worn or broken components are set aside so you can see them yourself.
Now versus later
We tell you which repairs are urgent and which can wait, and let you decide.
We point at the part before we replace it
T Tech Auto works out of a plain garage bay — dark plastic covers, hoses, hand tools, nothing dressed up for show. That's on purpose: the work is the point. When a car comes in, we run it down before we recommend anything, and if something's worn, we show it to you under the lift instead of describing it over a counter. Some repairs are urgent and some can wait a few months, and we tell you which is which instead of quoting one number for everything. Most of what we do is exactly what it sounds like: brakes, fluids, diagnostics, the stuff that keeps a car running instead of guessing. We're not selling comfort. We're selling a straight answer about what your car needs next.

Say what the car's doing
A call or a text. The sound, the light, when it happens — plain words are enough.
Get eyes on it before a number
A real estimate comes after the car's been looked at. You approve it before any wrench moves.
The work gets done
What was agreed, at the price that was agreed. Anything new that turns up mid-job gets approved the same way first.
Pick it up and look it over
Ask what was replaced, and ask for the old parts back — that's a normal thing to ask.
Before any shop touches your car
Four flags worth knowing — whatever shop you choose
Ask these of anyone quoting your car — us included. A good answer costs nothing; a bad one saves you the whole repair.
A diagnosis over the phone
Nobody can hear a wheel bearing through a phone. A real answer starts with the car in the shop.
An estimate that can't be itemized
Parts, labor, and what each one fixes. A single lump number hides what you're paying for.
Work started without a yes
Nothing gets replaced before you approve it. “We went ahead and…” is the sentence to walk away from.
Hesitation about the old parts
Asking to see what came off your car is normal. The reaction to that question tells you plenty.

Questions
How do you figure out what's actually wrong?
We start with diagnostics — a scan tool for electronics, a hands-on check for mechanical issues — and don't stop at the first code. A code points at a system; we keep checking until we can show you the actual part that failed.
Will you tell me if a repair can wait?
Yes. Not everything that's worn needs fixing today. We separate what's safety-critical from what's just wear, and tell you plainly which category a repair falls into so you can plan around it.
Can I see what you're replacing?
We keep the old part out until you've had a chance to look at it. If a pad, hose, or sensor is being replaced, you can see the wear or failure yourself instead of taking our word for it.
