What we do
Full sets
01A full manicure and pedicure built around shaping and cuticle care first, color second — the set people come back for.
Manicures & pedicures
02Classic hand and foot care, shaped and finished with polish, for anyone who wants clean, healthy-looking nails without extras.
Gel & shellac
03Long-wearing color applied in thin, even layers so it cures properly and resists chipping and lifting.
Acrylics & fills
04Sculpted acrylic sets and fills, shaped to your natural nail bed and finished smooth at the edge.
Nail art & design
05Hand-painted detail, from a simple accent nail to a full custom design, added on top of any manicure or set.
Spa pedicures
06A slower pedicure with extra soak and foot care time, for when you want the appointment to feel like a break.
Not sure what to ask for? Call — we’ll talk it through.
Call to bookShape before color
Nails are shaped and cuticles are cared for before any polish or gel goes on, every visit.
Cured, not rushed
Gel and shellac are applied in thin coats and cured fully between layers rather than sped through.
Fit to your own nail bed
Acrylic sets are sculpted to your natural shape rather than applied from a fixed template.

A studio where the last coat gets the same care as the first
The Nail Lounge of La Jolla is built around one idea: shaping and cuticle work matter more than how fast a set gets finished. The room is clean, bright, and detail-forward — polished tools set out, good light over every station, nothing left to rush through. Whether you're in for a quick polish change or a full acrylic fill, the same attention goes into the parts you don't see coming: the cuticle line, the shape before the color, the last coat before you leave. A Google reviewer put it simply — it's the place that consistently makes nails and toes look right.
How a first visit runs
(858) 456-7171Book it your way
Call or message — say which service you're after so the right amount of time gets set aside.
Pick the shape and the color first
Shape, length and color are settled before anything starts. A photo of a set you like helps more than words.
Nothing is a surprise
Length and shape are checked with you as it goes, not revealed at the end.
Leave knowing how to keep it
Ask how to care for your nails and when to come back. That's part of the visit, not an extra.
Before your first visit
Four things worth knowing — wherever you get your nails done
True of any salon, this one included. Good nail work starts with clean tools and a conversation.
Clean tools, every time
Metal tools should be cleaned and disinfected between clients, and files and buffers are often single-use. Asking how tools are cleaned is a normal question.
Know what you're getting
Gel, dip and acrylic wear, last and come off differently. Ask what's being used and how it's removed — before it goes on.
Removal matters as much as application
Picking or peeling product off takes the nail with it. A proper soak-off protects the nail underneath.
Speak up in the moment
Filing and cuticle work shouldn't hurt. Saying so while it's happening is exactly what the conversation is for.

good to know
- How long will my gel or acrylic last before it needs attention?
- It depends on your own nail growth and how the set was applied. Because color is cured fully and acrylics are shaped to your own nail bed, most sets grow out cleanly rather than lifting early — your tech can tell you what to expect for your fill timing.
- Can I get nail art added to a regular manicure?
- Yes — art is added on top of a shaped, prepped manicure or set, from a single accent nail to a full custom design. Let your tech know what you're picturing when you book.
- Do you take walk-ins or should I book ahead?
- Booking ahead is the best way to get the appointment and length of service you want, since sets like spa pedicures and full acrylics take more time. Call and we'll find a slot that fits.
