What we work on

  • 01

    Diagnostics

Before anything gets replaced, we find out what's actually wrong and show you, so the repair matches the problem, not a guess.

  • 02

    Brakes

Pads, rotors, and calipers inspected and measured, with the worn parts set aside so you can see how much life was left.

  • 03

    Suspension & alignment

Alignment done properly after new parts or tires go on, checked against spec rather than eyeballed.

  • 04

    Batteries & electrical

Testing for a battery that's actually dying versus a charging system that's failing it, plus the electrical gremlins in between.

  • 05

    Oil & fluids

Oil, coolant, transmission and brake fluid checked and changed on the schedule your engine actually needs, not a generic sticker.

  • 06

    Smog & inspection

Testing and a plain explanation of what a failure means and what it would take to fix, if it comes to that.

Our
standards

  • 01Worn parts shown to you, not just described
  • 02Diagnosis comes before the repair, every time
  • 03Drivers passing through get worked in for urgent issues
  • 04Alignment checked against spec, not eyeballed

Show, don't tell

We set the worn part on the counter so you see it before you approve the repair.

Diagnose first

Codes and systems are tested before any part is recommended for replacement.

Spec, not guesswork

Alignments and repairs are checked against factory spec rather than eyeballed.

01The shop

A shop with a Texaco sign and a painted concrete floor

Vic's is a working garage, not a showroom — corrugated metal siding, steel tool chests, a painted concrete floor, and an old Texaco sign on the office wall that's been there longer than most of the cars on the lift. Vic runs it the way a small shop should: you see the part that failed, you hear why it failed, and you decide what happens next. Drivers passing through La Mesa and neighbors who've been coming for years get the same walk-through under the hood.

How a visit works

How a repair runs, start to finish

(619) 462-8697
01

Say what the car's doing

A call or a text. The sound, the light, when it happens — plain words are enough.

02

Get eyes on it before a number

A real estimate comes after the car's been looked at. You approve it before any wrench moves.

03

The work gets done

What was agreed, at the price that was agreed. Anything new that turns up mid-job gets approved the same way first.

04

Pick it up and look it over

Ask what was replaced, and ask for the old parts back — that's a normal thing to ask.

Before any shop touches your car

Four flags worth knowing — whatever shop you choose

Ask these of anyone quoting your car — us included. A good answer costs nothing; a bad one saves you the whole repair.

  • A diagnosis over the phone

Nobody can hear a wheel bearing through a phone. A real answer starts with the car in the shop.

  • An estimate that can't be itemized

Parts, labor, and what each one fixes. A single lump number hides what you're paying for.

  • Work started without a yes

Nothing gets replaced before you approve it. “We went ahead and…” is the sentence to walk away from.

  • Hesitation about the old parts

Asking to see what came off your car is normal. The reaction to that question tells you plenty.

Questions

Will you show me what's actually wrong?

Yes — that's how the shop works. Once we've diagnosed the issue, we'll walk you out to the car and show you the part in question before we talk about fixing it.

What if I just need a second opinion after another shop did work?

We check the work in front of us against spec — measurements, connections, alignment settings — and tell you plainly what we find, whether that confirms the other shop's work or points to something missed.

How does scheduling work if it's urgent?

Call and describe what's going on. Some issues, like a battery or a car that won't start, get worked in faster than routine maintenance — we'll tell you straight what the schedule looks like.

Vic's Auto Repair’s website is built and ready

It's built, and it can go live on your own domain. See something you'd change? A service, a photo, a sentence: tell us and we change it, before launch and after.

Launch this website: $299

$299 once · $49/mo from day 30 · cancel online any time · 30-day refund on the $299

What happens after you launch

  1. TodayYou pay $299. The site is live within the minute at its own address; the receipt has the link.
  2. Same dayWe connect your domain with you, wherever it lives (GoDaddy, Squarespace, anywhere), or register one in your name for $25/yr.
  3. Any timeEmail a change in plain English, like new prices or new photos, and we make it. No limit on edits, no hourly billing. New pages are optional extras.
  4. 30 daysNot for you? Email us and the $299 comes back, no questions. The $49/mo starts only after that.

Before you decide

Do I actually own the site?

Yes. You own your site and your domain. Cancel anytime, keep everything. If you ever leave, we hand it all over, free. That's the deal in one sentence, and it's printed at checkout too.

Can I get my money back?

Yes. The $299 launch fee is refundable for 30 days, no questions asked, and the $49 a month can be cancelled at any time.

What's the $49 a month for?

Hosting, security, and unlimited edits to the pages you have: a new phone number, new prices, new photos, new wording. Email us and we make the change, with no hourly billing. New pages, like a page for another town you serve, are optional add-ons, and you see the price before you buy.

How did you get my information?

From public records and your public Google listing. The records are your state contractor license (the CSLB publishes it), your city or county business registry, and Overture Maps, an openly licensed map dataset. Your Google listing gives us things like your hours, photos, rating and reviews; ratings and reviews appear as they do on Google, with attribution, never edited or invented. The words on the site are ours, written from those facts, so tell us anything we got wrong and we fix it. Your email came from a business-data company we pay; we don't run software that scrapes websites for addresses. We've never sold or shared the list, and we're not going to.
